🎯 Short Summary:
We’re on a mission to protect the Tano River, one of West Africa’s most sacred and threatened waterways. Through education, environmental storytelling, and advocacy against illegal mining, Tanoriver.com is creating a digital sanctuary to inspire awareness, action, and preservation. Join us in defending the lifeblood of thousands—from its forests to its people.
🧭 Our Mission:
The Tano River flows through Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire, nourishing rainforests, endangered wildlife, and centuries-old cultural traditions. But today, this sacred river is under siege from illegal mining (galamsey), pollution, and deforestation.
Tanoriver.com is a nonprofit digital platform dedicated to:
- Documenting and mapping biodiversity along the river
- Preserving the cultural and spiritual heritage of the Tano
- Educating the public on environmental threats
- Mobilizing local and global action to protect this vital ecosystem
💸 Why We Need Your Help:
We’ve already created 170+ articles, but we need funding to:
- Build interactive educational tools and maps
- Sponsor fieldwork to document wildlife and pollution
- Translate content into local languages (Twi, Baoulé, etc.)
- Run social media campaigns and workshops in affected communities
- Fight back against illegal mining by empowering youth and traditional leaders
